Family Owned For 25+ Year
At TOMCO, we’re proud to be a leading provider of cold cutting services, CMM equipment, hydrostatic testing, and more, all across Canada. But we’re prouder still to be a family-owned organization, standing apart in an industry dominated by large corporations.
From the start, TOMCO was much more than a business – we were solving critical problems for industries that couldn’t afford to slow down.
Our Mission
We stand behind the people building North America’s energy future. With reliability, precision, and 100% commitment, we deliver the solutions that keep projects moving and possibilities growing.
Our Values
We show up when it matters most. When the stakes are high and the margins are tight – that’s where TOMCO thrives.
Precision Isn’t Optional
It’s the standard for us. Whether it’s bolting, portable machining, or the bottom line, every detail matters.
Adaptability is Power
In a sector that’s always evolving, we recognize the need to evolve with it, pairing new technology with time-tested expertise.
Reliability is Earned
We complete every job with confidence, upholding our legacy of integrity and always carrying our name with pride.
Make It Happen
There’s no room for excuses. We roll up our sleeves and tackle challenges head on. No matter the complexity, we get the job done exactly.
Give a Sh*t
We care about our clients, our people, and the work we deliver. We’re fully invested in solving your problems and delivering results.
What We Do

Meet Our Team
Rod Tomyn, Founder
Rod founded TOMCO in 2000, building on years of sector experience and success in similar, smaller ventures. Channelling ambition, insight, and a vision of a company providing cutting-edge technology to drive industries forward, Rod served as our company’s first CEO and guided our organization through sustained growth without forgetting the importance of roots and integrity. Known affectionately as the ‘Big Guy’ throughout his tenure, Rod passed the mantle of CEO to his son Wes in 2025.
“Throughout my career, I have always believed that if you provided service and quality and stood behind your work, your customers would recognise that. We still have deals with people we dealt with 25 years ago. To me, that is very rewarding.”
Wes Tomyn, CEO
A graduate of machining at NAIT, Wes has been a part of TOMCO’s story since minute one. From working in an initial role in the field, Wes has risen through the ranks of TOMCO the hard way, picking up valuable experience and insight at every level. Now serving as CEO, Wes upholds his family’s legacy of innovation and evolution, while ensuring TOMCO’s people are well looked after.
“Growth is always a big part of our agenda… The focus is to grow sustainably, as uncontrolled growth will always catch up with you. At every step of our journey, the focus is to also develop good people along the way. Empowering our team is always top of mind.”

The TOMCO Timeline
2000
Rod Tomlyn founds TOMCO in his garage in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, envisioning a company that provides the technology and equipment needed to drive industries forward.

2000 – 2010
TOMCO employs an initial 15 people. The company earns its reputation for incredible service and cutting-edge solutions, expanding across western Canada with outposts in Bonnyville, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Fort St. John, Kamloops, and Lloydminster.

2010 – 2025
TOMCO grows to a company of 200 people, even ramping up to 250 for special project demands. This drives an expansion eastwards, with branches opening in Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritime provinces.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Executive Leadership Team is created as a response, a significant strategic pivot that guides TOMCO through turbulence.

2025
Rod Tomlyn steps back as CEO, passing the mantle to his son, Wes, and taking up an advisory role. As CEO, Wes Tomlyn continues TOMCO’s mission of serving as an industry leader, ready to meet client needs.
The future for us goes in one direction – forward.
